All our thoughts and words have emotions underneath. Emotions, not words, carrying our real messages. Most often, we aren’t aware of difficult emotions coloring our messages to others. That’s why unresolved emotions generate 90% of conflict in our life. Four Elements to Managing Emotions easily give rise to sustaining our healthy well-being.
Humans are Wired for Emotions
Even when words aren’t spoken, even when non-verbal communication isn’t evident, emotions are still very present and real. Our heart…
- listens even if our ears are closed
- feels even if our mind is over active
- connects even if we try to be closed-off
- transmits even if we try to hide our emotions
Our heart transmits our emotions in the measurable electromagnetic field that extends from our heart to more than 3 feet — greater than a meter — all around us. Science has measured this “heart field.” It is proven that our emotions are transmitted and received through heart fields. In fact, scientists can name an emotion in our heart field with 70% accuracy. Imagine that! It gives concrete meaning to “trust your heart.”
Even though everyone can learn how to use their heart field tools to be aware of emotions, no one has received development at any stage of life to utilize this important human tool.
Something to Consider Personally
If you are dealing with repeating emotional distress and conflict, it is critical right now to build new resolution skills, habits and practices. You can’t avoid emotions any more. Our world is too chaotic with layers of unresolved emotions generating conflicts.
For those who believe that that we can stuff down emotions, gloss them over or compartmentalize feelings to deal with later, the BUZZER sounds loud! Foul!! You just got the warning card.
Here is a promise: these people will keep dealing with and creating conflict. Unresolved emotions are following us around stirring up crap. We may not want to keep experiencing the repeat performance that gives us headaches, gut aches and heart aches. It’s time to face the emotions music. And yeah, we might just cry. But, we are all going to feel better and achieve so much more. Guaranteed.
Stop the Cycle of Unresolved Emotions
Taking accountability for managing emotions is ground breaking. We need to have a better understanding of the myriad of emotions we have as human beings. No one is taught these life skills. None of us got emotions and feelings education in school. None of us were issued an owner’s manual for managing emotions. None were shown that being vulnerable is a sign of great strength.
Everyone has trouble managing emotions. Freeing our self of unresolved emotions seems impossible and an endless quest.
Listening doesn’t happen. Why? It’s simply because true listening requires an empathetic connection between people communicating. The most significant deterrent to listening is conflicting unresolved emotions.
Healing doesn’t happen. Why? It’s simply because emotions under the surface hold us back. People unwilling to be vulnerable, humble or connected to others won’t reveal their truth. These true deeper emotions go unresolved to generate dis-ease. Disease that won’t heal.
Are you a cycle stopper?
The roots for ignoring and dismissing emotions go way back to humanity’s beginning. Breaking such a deep generational cycle is not easy. But, cycle stoppers take accountability for the change they want to see.
4 Elements to Managing Emotions
Managing emotions is not only possible, it is essential to success in life. Nearly all conflicts have unresolved emotions at the heart of the problem. The Four Elements to Managing Emotions to put into practice are easy to learn. Time tested. Effective. Best practice. And apply to all aspects of life.
1. Emotions drive mind and body
- The heart feels first and dutifully sends messages to the mind
- Our five senses also continually transmit bodily feelings to the mind
- Patterns of feelings and their consequences are remembered as emotions in the mind
- The mind adapts and responds with biochemical and hormonal changes in our body
- Our body sustains a reaction to the mind’s interpretation of feelings as emotions
Hint: You may not be driven by what you actually feel.
2. Emotions have opposites
- Learn the language of emotions – both depleting and renewing
- Every depleting emotion has an opposite renewing emotions
- Remember how it feels in your body to experience each kind of emotion
Hint: Knowing the opposite of a depleting emotion triggers clearing and healing
3. Depleting emotions identified
- Pause when you feel heavy or emotionally depleted
- Breathe to increase awareness of what is happening within your body
- Listen to name any depleting emotions that you are feeling
Hint: Use a deck of cards as a tool to help name these emotions
4. Resolve repeating emotional conflicts
Identify a difficult situation that repeats in your life, then:
- NAME the common emotion that is a part of those situations
- CLAIM the opposite positive emotion to replace depleting emotion
- TAME the conflict by shifting the depleting emotion with a pause then breath
- AIM to the opposite positive emotion to replace what you feel
Hint: This process gives rise to sustainable well-being
From Emotionally Strangled to Miraculously Energized
Emotions are a part of everything we DO, ARE, and WANT TO BE.
Emotions are key to increasing our energy, healing our body, and living our purpose. Unresolved depleting emotions generate 90% of conflict. This is self-caused, repeating, merciless conflict that we create for our self and others. The unchecked cycle of emotionally generated conflict can be stopped. It’s the Four Elements to Managing Emotions that have the promise of moving anyone from emotionally strangled to miraculously energized and successful.
