The United States, a diverse nation with various culture and traditions require a leader that comprehends and embrace diversity. “If we are to have peace on earth, our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective.” Martin Luther King Jr. This nation is home to great and wide ranges of perspectives that should be treated and valued in a certain and particular way. Unfortunately, this nation is encountering many conflicts and issues that should be addressed promptly. The issues such as violence, misogyny, economic disparities, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and racial conflict. These issues are highly potential and possible to be resolved if this great nation has a great leader that would address these issues and cooperate with people to move forward. As an immigrant, it’s beyond my imagination to think that I would witness taking the oath of office to be the president of the United States, but hypothetically speaking, I would initially consider everyone equally regardless of their identity. I would make sure that I respect every ethnic group and value them as their president which then would create a mutual bond. This bond and connection increase the nation’s unity and cooperation of the people with the government.
Peace and unity is the ultimate way to a country that can democratically run and maintain a prosperous economy and standard of living. Primarily, the economy is the main reason many violence and unstable political climate occurs and the country turns into chaos. However, I believe the president has significant power that can move the country from chaos to prosperity. If I was the president, I would utilize and take advantage of my power to create jobs for people of different races regardless of their color and be fair among my great citizens. Moreover, Equality, fairness, and adequate budget is vital for the survival of the nation and I would do to the best of my ability to bring prosperity and equity to everyone in the country. Therefore, when families are able to support themselves and their families, satisfaction and gratitude towards their country come along with it. Domino effect then comes into play. Satisfaction, gratitude, and prosperity then help to unify the nation and bring people together.
Respecting and embracing diversity throughout the nation help to include various cultures and traditions to celebrate the basis and foundation of this great nation that was built by various cultures. Similarly, if I was the president of the United States, I would assure the people of this nation that I respect every individual and citizen regardless of their race, ethnicity, religious belief, gender, and every aspect of their identity. I reassure that I will never disrespect women due to their gender but rather I salute them and be grateful to have strong women in our nation that contribute significantly to the success of our nation. In conclusion, if I was the president of the United States, I would be acceptable of various cultures and acknowledge their contribution to the success of this nation and raise the quality of living standard and lighten hope of success for everyone. Finally, peace and unity do not come with division and backlashing citizens, but rather it comes with great responsibility and fair leadership.
